Mehr Jesia Biography 
Mehr Jesia is an entrepreneur and former Indian supermodel during 1980’s and 1990’s. She is credited as India’s first super model. She became Miss India in 1986 and represented India in Miss Universe contest the same year. She has been one of the earliest Indian models and star fashion icon of 1980’s who gained international fame. She is married to Bollywood star Arjun Rampal.
Her father, Homi Jesia, is a former Mr India. Mehr was not interested in books since school days. Instead she concentrated on sports like Swimming, Badminton and Snooker. She played Badminton and Snooker at National level and has also represented Mumbai for Swimming competitions. Just three months after her board exams, she became Miss India in the year 1986. Mehr attended Sophia College. After Miss India title, she discontinued studies and concentrated on modelling career. She became the face of beauty products like Lakme and Nivea and also endorsed products like Bombay Dyeing, Garden, OCM, Palmolive, Philips and Vimal. But she was not at all interested in Bollywood. She was the face of Vimal for seven years.
At the age of 24, she was at the peak of her career. During this time, she got an offer from London to replace Isabella Rossellini as the new international face of Lancome. She was the first Indian model to receive this opportunity. But she turned it down because she was missing her home in Dadar Parsi Colony. Otherwise it could easily have catapulted her into the league of international supermodels with fame.
Mehr Jesia Rampal marked the era of 1980’s. She along with Anna Bredmeyer and Shyamolie Verma gave new definations to Indian supermodels. Mehr held a special space in Indian fashion and advertising industry. She married Arjun Rampal in 1998, who is four years junior to him. She did her last show for him. But in 2007, she did a campaign for a beauty product and skin care company. In 2006, she turned a film producer aside her husband, and ‘I see you’ was their first venture.
