Megha Burman Biography

Megha Burman is an Indian actress who has appeared in a few Bollywood and south Indian movies. She has appeared in three south Indian language films – Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. In 2014 she played the lead role in Oru Modhal Oru Kadhal, a Tamil film. She was also seen in controversial Malayalam-Tamil bilingual Dam 999 in 2011, directed by Sohan Roy. Ballad of Rustom, Oscar nominated film of 2014, Lattoo and Telugu film - Ankit, Pallavi & Friends where she played lead role are other releases. She played the role of Raziya – a symbol of love in Dam 999.

 

This beautiful actress hails from Bengal. She was born and brought up in Kolkata. She completed her graduation in Mass Media and Communications from Mumbai. While at Mumbai she started her career in modelling, which paved her way to movies. As a model, she earned success in this field and became a familiar face to Indian viewers through numerous ads she appeared on TV screen. Some of her ads include - Motorola, Bru, Pepsi, Sony Cyber Shot, Tata Docomo, Fastrack Watches, and many more. Among the ads, she shot to fame with the ad of Bru coffee powder. In 2003 she was seen in a brief role in John Abraham starrer Paap directed by Pooja Bhatt.

 

In 2008 she marked her south Indian debut through the Telugu film, Ankit, Pallavi & Friends, where she was seen in a title role opposite Nikhil Siddharth. She has been waiting for yet another challenging role and DAM 999 happened. But the movie was banned in Tamil Nadu one day prior to release, by CM Jayalalithaa. The film revolves around nine characters and depicts the navarasas. She played a Pakistani character called Raziya in the film who is longing for a child.
