Meena Biography 
Meena is an Indian film actress who concentrates in the films of South Indian languages. She entered film industry as a child artist and later acted in lead roles in many films. She is also a model and television host and is also good in singing and dancing.
Meena was born on 16th September 1975 in Chennai in Tamil Nadu. She belongs to a Tamil family and her father’s name is Durairaj and her mother’s name is Raj Mallika. She studied at Vidhyodhaya School at Chennai. After completing class 8, she could not go to school as she was busy in acting and so completed her class 10 by taking up private coaching. She also got her master’s degree in history from the University of Madras.
She got training in Bharatnatyam dance and can speak many languages like Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and English. Her mother was very encouraging and guided her in her career. She has good friendship with many leading actresses of her time like Roja, Sanghavi and Devayani. On 12th July 2009, she married the Bangalore based software engineer Vidyasagar at Tirumala Venkateswara Temple at Andhra Pradesh. The couple has a daughter Nainika born on 1st January 2011.
Meena started her career as an actress in 1982 when she was seven years old through the film Nenjangal. It was Sivaji Ganesan who spotted her at a birthday party and brought her into cine field. She acted as child artist in more than 45 films.
In adult role, her debut film was Seetharamaiah Gari Manavaralu in Telugu. Her first film in Tamil was Oru Pudiya Kadhai. She was a popular heroine in 1990s. She usually avoided glamorous roles. She has acted with many popular heroes namely Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Kamal Hassan, Mammootty, Vijayakanth, Nagarjuna, Ajith Kumar, Prabhu Deva, Sarathkumar, Jayaram, Raviteja, Prashanth, Suresh Gopi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sathyaraj, etc.
She has also appeared in many television series such as Anbulla Amma, Lakshmi, Mudda Mandaram, Kalyanam, etc. She has hosted and worked as judge in many programs like Houseful, Masthana Masthana, Boys Vs Girls, Jodi Number One Season 5, Super Kudumbam, etc.
She is also a good singer and has worked for many albums and sang a song for the film Kaadhal Sadugudu. She also worked as a playback singer for the movie Sena by D. Iman. Some of the films that she has acted include Nattamai, Oru Oorla Oru Rajakumari, Coolie, Muthu, Naam Iruvar Namakku Iruvar, Periyanna, Anandha Poongatre, Friends, Krishna Babu, Thenali, Vetri Kodi Kattu, Dreams, Kuselan, Thambikottai, etc.
