Mayur Puri Biography

Mayur Puri is a noted lyricist, scriptwriter and producer of Bollywood. As a successful dialogue writer he is associated with Farah Khan’s movies like Om Shanti Om and upcoming flick – Happy New Year. Dialogues of Om Shanti Om became immensely popular which bagged numerous awards and one Filmfare nomination as well. ABCD: Any Body Can Dance and Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai are noted work as a dialogue writer. As a lyricist, his best songs are included in the movies – Jab we met, Jannat 2, Race 2, R…Rajkumar, Humshakals, Billu, Gangster and Singh is Kinng. Now he is working on the dialogues and screenplay of ABCD: Any Body Can Dance 2.

 

He belongs to Ajmer, Rajasthan born in the year 1974. His childhood days were spent in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He has been associated with television and theatre as a director and writer since his early days. He moved from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in 1999 and became Chief Assistant Director of Sanjay Gadhvi. He wrote the Gujarati play 'Amastaa Amastaa’ in 2001 which was a huge hit. Then he was promoted to screenwriter while working under Yash Raj films. He worked as assistant director and dialogue writer of Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai in 2002. He wrote song lyrics of 2003 movie, FUN2shh. He was an Associate Director for Dhoom. Since then he established as independent screenwriter and lyricist and was associated with Yash raj Films for many movies.

 

A few of his chartbuster songs as a lyricist include - Love Mera Hit Hit of Billu, Saree Ke Fall Sa of R..Rajkumar, Falak Dekhun of Garam masala, Jaane Kya Chahe Mann of Pyar ke side effects and all songs of Singh is King and Race 2. "Lat Lag Gayee" "Be Intehaan," and "Party on My Mind" written by Mayur Puri became extremely popular.
