Master Anand Biography

Master Anand is a Kannada actor, comedian, director and television host, who started his professional career as a child artist. His real name is H. Anand. As a child artist he is best known for playing young Ganesha in the Kannada film Gauri Ganesha, released in 1991. He shared screen space with popular actors, Ananth Nag, Sihi Kahi Chandru and Ramesh Bhat for this comedy-drama film, and his performance as a child artist received rave reviews. Now he has moved to adult roles, and he has appeared in around 60 films till now, handling different kinds of roles. He is the recipient of state award for best child actor twice and Filmfare awards once.

 

Master Anand was born on 4 January 1984. He began his career as a child artist in V Ravichandran's Kindarijogi. ‘Master’ tag got added to his name in childhood as he portrayed child artist roles in the early days of acting career. Anand is widely regarded as one of the best and popular child actors of Kannada cinema, with three awards to his credit. He portrayed child artist roles throughout 1980s and 1990s, and moved to adult roles in the early 2000s. He received Karnataka State Award for Best Child Artist twice in 92 and 95 for the movies - Gauri Ganesha and Thayi Illada Thavaru respectively, and also Filmfare awards for Best Child Artist for Makkala Sakshi in 1996.

 

As an adult actor Master Anand earned recognition for the first time through 2002 movie, Friends. Devaru Varavanu Kotre, Mani, Preethigaagi, Preetisle Beku, Jyeshta, Meera Madhava Raghava, Sajni, Hosavarsha and Preethi Nee Heegeke are some of his noted roles. He also directed one Kannada film in 2011 titled, 5 Idiots. He played the lead role too. He has been a part several Kannada reality shows and TV soaps on television.
