Mast Ali Biography

Mast Ali is an Indian actor and dialogue writer best known for his Hyderabadi dialect humour. He is best associated with Hyderabadi Urdu talkies, also known as Dakhini language. The Angrez is one of his famous roles, where he played Saleem Pheku. It’s his debut movie too. He mostly plays supporting and comic roles and is tagged as a show stealer. He has also acted in Hyderabad Nawabs and Hyderabadi Bakra. In 2015 he made his main stream appearance through Telugu feature film, Surya vs Surya in a supporting role.

His birth name is Ali Asgar Tayabi. He marked his acting debut with The Angrez released in 2005. Till now his role as Saleem Pheku in the movie remains his most popular role. He later appeared in movies like Kirkit (2009), Berozgaar (2010), Zabardast (2011), and Ram Robert Raheem (2015), some of his noted roles till now. He also works as a lyricist in the Hyderabadi cinema industry and has appeared in around 50 films in a career spanning to more than 13 years. Drive in 2018 film and he also co-scripted this movie. He worked as a lyricist for 2009 movie, Kirkit.

He played a triple lead role in Ram Robert Raheem in 2015. He portrayed a Hindi, Muslim and Christian in this film, and played lead role too. Subramanyam for Sale, Surya vs Surya, The Angrez 2, Dawat E Shaadi, Babu Bangaram, Tiger Sultan and 127B are among his works in the recent times. He also appeared in 2017 Hindi movie, Salam Zindagi. He uses Mast Ali as his screen name for movies.
