Marthand K. Venkatesh Biography 
Marthand K. Venkatesh is a famous editor associated with Telugu cinema. Venkatesh is son of noted Telugu film editor K. M. Marthand. A successful editor, he is a winner of Nandi awards 4 times. He won the state awards for the movies - Tholi Prema (1998), Daddy (2001), Pokiri (2006) and Arundhati (2008). He started his work as an independent director in 1994. Known as one of the prominent and popular editor of Telugu cinema, he has edited more than 100 films.
Marthand had a filmy background. He was born to noted Telugu film editor of yesterdays - K. M. Marthand. BA Subba Rao, the legendary Telugu film director was his granduncle who inspired his father to enter the industry. NTR gave his the first break and later did around 300 films before he became an alcoholic. Seeing the deteriorating health of his father young Marthand had to help his father to edit movies. He was doing his matriculation while he assisted his father. Once K Raghavendra Rao asked him to give a feedback on his movie - Coolie No.1. Young Marthand gave his sincere feedback and impressed by his criticism, he offered him the first break as an independent editor for the movie, Allari Premikudu. Rao gave him 10 films continuously including Pelli Sandadi.
His father worked at Suresh Productions and Marthand too continued there. His frank feedbacks while working as an assistant to his father, earned him impressions and opportunities from the producer Suresh babu. 'Preminchukundam Raa' was his big break under Suresh productions. He earned the real sense of editing from K Raghavendra Rao. He became an independent editor after the death of his father. This editor never refers books and believes that experience of working with right people helped him a lot.
