Marc Robinson Biography

Marc Robinson is a former Indian model of 1990s, who came to limelight with the controversial Kama sutra ad of 1991. He was seen aside Pooja Bedi in the controversial ad, shot in a sensuous way which arose eye brows of many in the conservative Indian society. A supermodel of 1990s, he was one of the most successful ramp models of his time, when fashion has just start flourishing in India. Apart from appearing in music videos, he also played lead role in a Bollywood film – Bada Din opposite Tara Deshpande. Now in the early 50s, Marc is pretty much active in the modelling industry, working as a grooming expert. He is the organiser of the Elite Model Look India contest too.

Marc Robinson was born on February 3, 1964. He started his career as a model in the late 1980s, when fashion industry has just started to grow. It can be said that he was one of the earliest successful male supermodels of India. He invited a lot of controversies in 1991, when he was featured in a condom ad aside Pooja Bedi, a time when sex awareness was still a taboo to conservative Indian society. Though several condom ads later appeared on channels and magazines, none of them have created a buzz as this one. The ad was an aberration from the toned-down commercials of the already existing brands. In 2011, 20th anniversary of the controversial ad was celebrated. Pooja revealed that it was actually her makeup artist’s hand that squeezes Marc’s back in the ad, as she refused to get intimate with her co-star.

Currently he is an international celebrity pageant mentor who works as a grooming expert for beauty pageants. Apart from the Bollywood film Bada Din, he has also acted in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (TV Series) and appeared in the first episode of the reality series - Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao. He is married to Waluscha D'Souza since 2002.
