Manoranjan Ravichandran Biography

Manoranjan Ravichandran is a budding young actor associated with Kannada cinema. He is the son of V. Ravichandran, the prominent actor and filmmaker of Kannada film industry. He is the grandson of N. Veeraswamy, Kannada film producer and distributor. Thus Manoranjan becomes the third generation of artists from his family, to work in Kannada cinema. Manoranjan made his debut with the Kannada film Saheba in 2017. Though the movie received mixed reviews from critics, Manoranjan’s performance garnered critics’ attention.

 

Manoranjan Ravichandran was born into a family with filmy background, as the son of Kannada actor V. Ravichandran and his wife Sumathy. He has two siblings, one brother and one sister. Manoranjan decided to follow his father’s footsteps and step in to his father’s shoes as an actor. To pursue a career in acting, he took acting classes at Abhinaya Tharanga, and learnt martial arts from Chennai. He was also interested in cricket during his teens, and has played the game till district level. A hand injury brought an end to his cricket dreams.

 

Initially he was to launch to films by his father, who announced a project titled Premalokadalli Ranadheera in 2014. The project got delayed for some reason, and Manoranjan marked his film debut with Saheba in 2017. Shanvi Srivastava played the female lead in this romantic action thriller. But the movie failed to create an impact at box office. His second film, Brihaspathi was released in 2018, the first released Kannada film of the year. The movie was directed by Nanda Kishore, and Mishti Chakraborthy played the female lead. He dubbed his role thrice for this film, as he felt he hasn’t done full justice to the role.
