Manoj Tiwari Biography

Manoj Tiwari is an actor and politician, who currently serves as a parliamentarian in Lok sabha. He is also associated with music as a singer, apart from being a successful television host. He is quite popular with Bhojpuri movies, though has played character roles in Bollywood films also. Currently associated with politics, he was elected to Parliament in 2014 Indian general elections where he represented Bharatiya Janata Party. As a successful actor of Bhojpuri films, he has played male lead in two films. He is also the captain of "Bhojpuri Dabangs" in CCL.

He is a singer turned actor turned politician. He also participated in the celebrity reality show on Colors TV - Bigg Boss Season 4 and he was linked to the fellow contestant, Shweta Tiwari, with whom he has worked in Kab Aibu Anganwa Hamaar and Ae Bahuji ke Sister. Shweta Tiwari was the winner of the season.

He was born on 1 February 1973 in Atarwalia, Bihar. Chandra Deo Tiwari and Lalita Devi are his parents and he has five siblings. Manoj started his professional career as a singer, mostly associated with Bhojpuri language. He spent 10 long years in singing career before his acting debut. Though he has moved to other sectors of entertainment industry as actor and host, he still renders his voice for songs. Most recently he sang the Bhojpuri version of the song – “Jabardast Fan” for Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie – Fan.

He started his career as a singer in the mid-1990s and made his film debut with "Sasura Bada Paise Wala". It was followed by two more successful Bhojpuri films - Daroga Babu I Love You and Bandhan Tute Na. Very soon he established as a leading star of Bhojpuri, aside Ravi Kishan. A few of the successful shows hosted by him include – Chak de bachche (2008), Sur Sangram (season 1 & 2), Nehle Pe Dehla and Bharat Ki Shaan: Singing Star (Season 2). He is currently divorced.
