Manju Sunichen Biography

Manju Sunichen is a Malayalam actress who appears in films and TV soaps. She has played a child artist role in 1979 film, Mani Koya Kurup, and after that turned active in the industry since early 2000s. She plays supporting roles on silver screen, and has portrayed over 50 character roles. Manju earned more recognition in the field of television, where she appeared in half a dozen of shows. Currently she plays the role of Thangam in Aliyan VS Aliyan aired on Amrita TV since 2017. She is also known for her movie roles in Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016), Kammatti Paadam (2016) and Urumbukal Urangarilla (2015). She plays comic roles in Malayalam sitcoms.

Manju Sunichen’s real name is Manju Pathrose. She was born in Ernakulam. She made a brief appearance as a child artist in a Malayalam movie in the late 1970s. After that she returned to movies in 2001. Before that she completed her education. She is married to a musician and has one son. As a film actress she appeared in brief roles in Ee Parakkum Thalika, Megasandesam, Mekha Sandesham, Kuberan, Gramophone, Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum, Sadanandante Samayam, Kochi Rajavu etc and worked with Dileep, Kunchakko Boban, Prithviraj etc. However she received only limited success.

As a contestant she made her first appearance on television through the reality show, Veruthe alla Bharya in 2012, and bagged her first acting role through Marimayam the following year. Mayamohini, Kunnamkulathangaadi and Aliyan VS Aliyan are her noted appearances later. In fact she shot to fame playing Thankam in Aliyan VS Aliyan, and also bagged won the Kerala State Television Awards (Special Jury Award) for her performance in this role.
