Manjima Mohan Biography

Manjima Mohan is an upcoming Malayalam actress who gained appreciation through the recent release -   Oru Vadakkan Selfie. Earlier in the early 2000s she has worked as a child artist for numerous movies and has been a very popular television anchor. She was also seen in many popular ads during this period. For the year 2000, she won a Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist for Kamal’s Madhuranombarakattu. Manjima is the daughter of noted Cinematographer Vipin Mohan.

Manjima was born in Thiruvananthapuram in the year 1993 to noted Cinematographer Vipin Mohan. Her mother is a trained classical dancer - Kalamandalam Girija. She started her career as a child artist in the late 1990s and appeared in the movies like Kaliyoonjal, Priyam, Mayilpeelikkavu, Saaphalyam, Thenkashippattanam, Madhuranombarakattu etc. In fact she acted in many movies where her father worked as a cinematographer. She gained attention in the year 2000, when she worked in Priyam amd Madhuranombarakattu and got her first state award as well. She was regularly seen in ads and also worked as a television anchor in Kiran TV in the mid-2000s. She has been one of the popular child celebrities on TV during this time. After the movie Thandavam in 2002, she took a break from cinema to complete her studies.

In 2015, she returned to big screen playing the female lead in Oru Vadakkan Selfie, scripted Vineeth Sreenivasan. The movie was the first hit of the year 2015 and its songs too went on to become chartbuster. Manjima played the title role of Daisy George. After the super success of this movie, she got two more movies – one in Tamil and the other in Telugu. Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada and Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo are those movies respectively.
