Manikuttan Biography

Manikuttan is a Malayalam film actor who is known for portraying supporting roles. He has also done lead roles in a few movies, though not successful. He has also appeared in a few television serials. His real name is Thomas James and he belongs to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The popular television series Kayamkulam Kochunni was his breakthrough to acting career. He played the childhood role of Kochunni in the serial aired on Surya TV in 2003-2004. Malayalam movie, Boyyfriend released in 2005 marked his screen debut. He played the title role of a teenager in this movie. Doctor Love – was one of the memorable roles of his acting career.

He was born in Thiruvananthapuram in 1986. He was born into a Christian family settled in Thiruvananthapuram. His real name is Thomas James. He schooled at St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Pattom and later graduated in commerce from MG College, Thiruvananthapuram. He regularly appeared in many television serials since 1990s as a child artist. He started his film journey as a child artist with the 1999 movie –Varnachirakukal. He shot to fame after portraying the childhood of Kayankulam Kochunni for the television serial of the same name. While studying graduation at mahatma Gandhi College, he regularly participated in many cultural events.

After the popular role in Kayamkulam Kochunni, he received numerous offers from television industry. As an adult actor he made his film debut through Boyyfriend, directed by Vinayan. In this movie, he played the title role of Ramesan, the son of Lakshmi Gopalaswamy. The movie was declared a flop. Manikuttan got success through character roles later. Crocodile love story, Hotel California and Scene Onnu Nammude Veedu are his recent appearances. Snehamulloral Koodeyullappol is his upcoming movie, where he plays the lead role.
