Mamta Mohandas Biography 
Mamta Mohandas is an Indian film actress and a singer. She has acted in a number South Indian films including the films of Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada films. She got two Filmfare Awards for Best Female Playback Singer in Telugu in the year 2007 and for the Best Actress category in Malayalam in the year 2010.
She was born on 14th November 1985 in Manama in Bahrain in a Malayali family. She studied at the Indian School at Bahrain till 2002. She got her Bachelor’s degree at Mount Carmel College at Bangalore. She was slim and tall and this won her many modeling assignments. She is also trained in Carnatic and Hindustani music. She is a cancer survivor and braved Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She had to cut her hair off when undertaking chemotherapy. She had to manage with wigs in the film Anwar.
She acted in the comedy film Guru En Aalu in 2009 with Madhavan and then in the thriller Passenger. The second film gave her a turning point in her career. She acted in Kadha Thudarunnu by Sathyan Anthikkad with Jeyaram. She is a good playback singer. She sang for the Telugu film Rakhi. She won the Filmfare Best Telugu Female Playback Singer Award in 2007. She sang Kaalai Kaalai for the Tamil film Kaalai and Idai Vazhi for the film Goa.
She also recorded a song for the film Thriller. She sang a duet with Hariharan for the film Mohabath. She is the brand ambassador of the Kochi International Fashion Week held from 4th August 2011 to 7th August 2011.
Some of her films include Mayookham, Bus Conductor, Adbutham, Lanka, Sivappathigaram, Baba Kalyani, Kedi, King, Passenger, Chintakayala Ravi, Kadha Thudarunnu, Anwar, Nirakazhcha, Race, etc. She won Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actress, Asianet Most Popular Actress Award, Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Malayalam for the film Kadha Thudarunnu. She also won Asianet Most Popular Actress Award for the film Anwar.
