Mallika Sherawat Biography 
Mallika Sherawat is an Indian actress who focuses in the Hindi film industry. She is noted for her bold attitude and is usually considered as a sex symbol. She has given many commercial successes and has even crossed over to Hollywood through some films like Hisss and Politics of Love.
Mallika Sherawat was born on 24th October 1976 in Rohtak in Haryana in a Jat family. Her birth name is Reema Lamba. Her father’s name is Mukesh Kumar Lamba and her mother’s name is Sherawat Lamba. Her father was conservative and was against her career in acting. However her mother supported her and encouraged her and so she started using her mother’s name.
Sherawat completed her schooling at Delhi Public School at Mathura Road and did her degree in philosophy from Miranda House at Delhi University. She married the Jet Airways pilot Captain Karan Singh Gill in 2000. However, to pursue her acting career, she divorced him in 2001.
Mallika Sherawat started her career as a model and appeared in many television advertisements. She worked with Amitabh Bachchan in the BPL ad and with Shahrukh Khan in the Santro ad. She also appeared in many music videos. All these things gave her opportunity to perform in the films. Initially her entry in the film industry strained her family relationship but after seeing her success, they were reconciled.
Her debut movie was Jeena Sirf Merre Liye in 2002. Her film in 2003, Khwahish made her more noticeable. She has that great sexy and confident looks that make her appear with dignity in emotional scenes. She entered Tamil film industry through the film Dasavatharam.
Some of the films of Mallika Sherawat are Kis Kis Ki Kismat, Murder, Bachke Rehna Re Baba, The Myth, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Shaadi Se Pehle, Dama Zaroori Hai, Guru, Aap Ka Suroor – The Real Love Story, Welcome, Ugli Aur Pagli, Maan Gaye Mughal – e – Azam, Hisss, Thank You, Osthe, Tezz, etc.
She performed in a Hollywood film named Hisss which was based on the legend of Naga. She was noted for promoting the film with living snakes at the Cannes Film Festival 2010. Though this film was taken in English, it was released in all major Indian languages. She also worked in some other English films like Politics of Love.
