Lambu Nagesh Biography

Lambu Nagesh was a veteran actor associated with Kannada film industry. Nagesh acted in about 100 films during his life time. He was a popular face of Kannada small screen also. He excelled as a supporting actor and as a villain, and also played numerous grey shaded roles. He was a part of major box office hits such as Huliya, Police Story-2 etc. He died on September 1, 2017. He was suffering from liver related ailments for some time, and his death shocked Kannada entertainment industry. During his last days he played several memorable roles in Kannada soaps, and had already taken a break from Kannada film industry.

Lambu Nagesh became a part of Kannada film industry in the early 1990s. He was popularly known as Nagesh in Kannada cinema. In a career spanning to 25 years, he played character roles in over 100 Kannada films. Nagesh started his career in 1992 with the movie Pruthviraj, directed by Renuka Sharma. The movie was released under the banner of Swathi Cine Arts. Abhijith, Huliya, Police Dog, Body Guard, Olave etc are some of his popular roles later. Nagesh was last seen in the 2006 Kannada movie Mahanagara. The movie was directed by Eshwar and produced by Venugopal.

After that he switched to television. He was active with small screen roles till his death in 2017. Lambu Nagesh was also a theatre artist, who was active as a stage actor before he forayed into films.  He died at MS Ramaiah Hospital after suffering from prolonged illness due to liver problem. For the past 5 days he was admitted in the hospital and was undergoing treatment.
