Kumar Govind Biography

Kumar Govind is a filmmaker and actor from Kannada film industry. He makes family dramas most and owns a few hit movies to his credit. Songs of his films are usually memorable. He debuted as a hero through Kannada movie, Shhh!, and also did lead role in Anuraga Sangama with Ramesh Aravind and Sudha Rani. As an actor he is best known for the hit romantic film Anuraga Sangama, released in 1995. His role as innocent hero was well received, and the movie was later remade to Hindi as Humko Tumse Pyar Hai. The movie was directed by V. Umakanth. He started off his career as an actor and later turned a film director.

Kumar Govind celebrates his birthday on 30 November. Govind made his acting debut with horror film Sshhh (1993) directed by Upendra. He also co-produced the movie. The movie was a commercial hit, and his next film as an actor, Anuraga Sangama is his most memorable role in his acting career. The movie’s success and Kumar Govind’s acting skills helped him to establish in the industry. He was initially promised the project, Om (1995). But the project never materialized. After two hits back to back, though he appeared in a series of movies of 1990s, none of them could propel his acting career and most of them were declared as flops.

Kona Edaithe, Mruthyu Bandana, Minugu Thare, Maduve, Thaayi Kotta Seere, Ee Hrudaya Ninagagi, Jenu Goodu, Mahalakshmi, Aathma, Sri Manjunatha, Yuvaraja, Nodu Baa Nammoora, Mayabazar etc are his movies released later. Later he moved towards supporting roles. He turned a director with 2010 film Satya, and directed his second movie, Mastermind in 2015. He was last seen in Rudra Tandava, Mastermind etc.
