Krishna Kumar Biography

Krishna Kumar is a south Indian film and television actor, who mostly portrays character roles. He is active in Malayalam and Tamil, though he predominantly works in Malayalam movies. He established as a Doordarshan news reader before making his mark as an actor. 1994 movie Kashmiram marked his film debut. Later he worked in television serials, both Malayalam and Tamil, which helped him to bag a few significant film roles in both these languages as well.  Billa II, Deivathirumagal and Mugamoodi are some of his noted performances of Tamil cinema.

He was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He started his professional career as a newsreader for Malayalam Doordarshan in the early 1990s and got noticed easily for his good looks. It also offered him several acting offers. He married Sindhu in 1994. Both met for the first time a communications centre in Thiruvananthapuram where Krishna Kumar worked earlier. He was already a familiar face on Doordarshan then. One more meeting at a shoe shop culminated into a marriage later. The couple has three daughters and his elder daughter Ahaana Krishna has debut Malayalam film industry through Rajeev Ravi’s film, Njan Steve Lopez in 2014. She played female lead opposite debutant, Farhaan Faasil – veteran director Faasil’s second son.

He played the pivot role of Unni – Sharada’s son in his debut movie, Kashmiram. Though it was a bit role, the whole movie revolves around him and his murder mystery. Some of the memorable roles of Krishna Kumar include – Sukrutham, Maanthrikam, Aalancheri thamprakkal, Vishudhan, Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum, Agnisakshi, Superman, Arayannangalude Veedu, Chathikkatha Chanthu, Run baby run, Molly Aunty Rocks! and Summer palace. He played the male antagonist in 2000 horror movie, Summer Palace. But the movie was a flop.
