Kottayam Nazeer Biography

Kottayam Nazeer is a popular mimicry artist who plays character and comic roles on Malayalam screen. He is also a dubbing artist. He has given life to over hundreds of character roles on big screen. He has performed in India and abroad with more than 4000 shows and one of the well-established mimicry artists of Malayalam since 1990s. He was introduced to film through the movie based on mimicry artists - Mimics Action 500 (1995).  He has also performed many TV programs and hosted a few shows as well. As a film artist, some of his noted performances are Malarvaadi Arts Club, Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus, Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty, Kattuchembakam, Njan Salperu Ramankutty, Kayamkulam Kanaran, www.Anukudumbam.com, Bavuttiyude Namathil, Vamanapuram Bus Route, Teja Bhai & Family etc.

He was born in Karukachal, Kottayam in 1973. His father was a dental expert, Dr. P. F Aziz. Mother Fatima is a house wife. His eldest sister died very young and later her name ‘Nazeema’ was given to their home in her memory – Nazeema mandiran. He has one brother and one sister. He is the youngest. He is married to Hazeena Nazeer and has two sons. Since young he was interested in drawing and painting and was not a brilliant student in studies. He studied at Karukachal NSS School. He won many prizes in clay modelling, drawing and painting during school competitions. He was encouraged a lot by his father since those days.

He spent 5 years at A. P. Arts, a drawing school to pursue a career in the field of drawing and painting. In those days, he used to perform as a mimicry artist, though not serious. After his school studies, he formed a small theater troupe with a group of friends and named it Karukachal Boys. Thus it marked his beginning as a stage actor. Slowly the troupe gained attention and he had a passion to join Kalabhavan. Though he was not able to join there, he joined Cochin Oscar, where he came into contact with Dileep, Nadirshah, Harishree Ashokan etc. That’s the beginning of his mimics career.
