Komal Sharma is a budding actress associated with south Indian film industry. She is a Tamil film actress, who appeared in one Telugu movie titled, Anu too. She marked her film debut with 2011 Tamil film, Sattapadi Kutram and later appeared in Tamil films – Oothari, Nagaraja Cholan MA MLA, Vaigai Express and Natrinai-India Fight Backs. She is a north Indian born and brought up in Tamil Nadu. Yet she surprises everyone through her fluency in Tamil languages. She does her signature in Tamil language. She is yet to make her Bollywood debut. She plays female lead, supporting roles and parallel lead in Tamil films.

Komal Sharma is of north Indian origin. Yet she was born in Chennai to a north Indian family and brought up here. Her family with roots in Rajasthan has been settled in Chennai 40 years ago. She has three elder siblings. She completed her graduation in computer science from Chennai. She is a sportswoman associated with Squash game and won several junior and senior National Squash championships. She has represented Tamil Nadu for many squash games. In the senior league, she was within the top eight and the captain of the Tamil Nadu B team. She has also participated in the annual event of Chennai Marathon, and has endorsed many sports products.

She won the title call Miss Metropolis 2009 and later won many regional beauty titles in Tamil Nadu. It paved her easy way to films as well. She marked her film debut with 2011 Tamil film, Sattapadi Kutram, playing the parallel lead aside Sathyaraj, Vikranth, Harish Kalyan, Bhanu, A. Venkateshand many more stars, and bagged a few more Tamil projects. As she has been modelling for sports products, the unit of Sattapadi Kutram took a look at some of her pictures, and offered her with the first film role which she accepted.
