Kiran Kumar Biography

Kiran Kumar is a well established Bollywood actor. He works in television serials as well. He is the son of veteran Bollywood actor Jeevan. Apart from Hindi, he has also worked in Gujarati and Rajasthani movies. He has played lead actor’s role in many Gujarati movies. He has handled both supporting roles as well as negative roles. As a film actor, his noted movies include  - Dhadkan, Viswathma, Khuda gawah, Tanedaar, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Shikari, Qahar, Tezaab, Hathkadi, Sapoot, Pathar ke phool, Aaj ka arjun, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Hero heeralal, Jalte badan, Apradhi, Love in Simla, Army, Kyo Kii...Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta, Junoon, Guneghar, Madhosh, Anjaam, Gurudev, Bol radha bol, Gaddar, Sandwich and Ajay. Recently he has been honoured with the life membership of the International Film And Television Club of the Asian Academy of Film & Television. He is also a member of CINTAA and its core committee. Currently he is one of the most paid actors of television.

Kiran Dar is the original name of Kiran Kumar. He was born to Hindi villain, Jeevan and Gujarati actress Sushma Verma. He is a descendant of a Kashmiri Pandit royal family. He attended Daly College, a boarding school in Indore and later enrolled at R.D. National College in Bandra, Mumbai. He has also studied from Film and Television Institute of India in Pune. He played a bit role in 1960 super hit romantic movie – Love in Shimla.

His career actually kicked off during early 1970’s. As his parents were already in film industry, he too was drawn towards it. Kumar starred in Do Boond Pani in 1971 and went on to play the lead roles in many movies. But all these movies flopped and later he moved to Gujarati movies which proved successful. He returned to Bollywood in the late 1980’s doing negative roles in Tezaab and Khudagawah. His anti roles gave him yet another career in Bollywood. In between, he switched on to television with Prem Kishan. A few of his successful serials include - Zindagi, Ghutan, Sahil, Aur Phir ek Din, Manzil, Katha Sagar, Papa, Miilee and Chhajje Chajje Ka Pyar.
