Kimi Verma Biography

Kimi Verma is a noted model, actress and fashion designer from Punjab. Former Miss Bombay, she won the subtitle - Femina Miss India Beautiful Hair in 1994, the same year when Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai were crowned Miss India and Runner-up respectively. She started her film career the same year through a Punjabi film – Naseebo and a few more movies through which she became popular, before she switched her career to fashion designing. Verma has also acted in a few television serials. Verma is one of the most established female lead in the Punjabi Cinema. Apart from versatility and good looks, her fluency to speak Punjabi bagged her many film roles.

Kimi was born in Punjab on 20 November 1977. She moved to Mumbai while studying in class 10. She got her first break to films when she was only 14. Thus she made her film debut through the Punjabi movie, Naseebo released in 1994. The movie was directed by acclaimed director of Punjabi films, Manmohan Singh. Her modelling career started only after that. After winning Miss Bombay in 1993 and Femina Miss India Beautiful hair 1994, she concentrated on to her studies and completed graduation from Mumbai. For higher studies, she moved to Boston.

A successful model, later she modelled in India, U.K, Egypt and Sri Lanka for brands like Sunsilk, HSBC, Clinic Plus, Liberty, Nescafe etc. She was also a spokeswoman for Ponds Institute and Skin Care for India and Egypt. Though she gained fame and popularity through Punjabi films, she never made any move to act in Hindi films. After her debut film, she received many Punjabi offers. Khoon Da Daaj, Shaheed Udham Singh, Jee Aayan Nu, Asanu Maan Watna Da, Qahar, Mera Pind My Home and Sat Sri Akal are her Punjabi films.
