Kedar Shinde Biography

Kedar Shinde is a Marathi filmmaker. He is an actor, director, producer and screen writer from Maharashtra. He is the grandson of famous Marathi folk artist, Shahir Krishnarao Sable, an accomplished singer, writer, playwright and performer on stage. Kedar Shinde also started his career with Marathi theatre and later joined film industry. He has also directed a few TV shows and plays, along with his career as a filmmaker and screenwriter. He directs plays and Tv shows in Hindi, Marathi, English and Gujarati languages.

Kedar Shinde was born on January 16, 1973 in Mumbai, into a family with artistic background. His maternal grandfather Shahir Sable was a folk artist and singer, and his maternal aunt - Charusheela Sable is a Marathi actor. Following their footsteps Kedar also reached the same field, where he established as a theatre, film and television personality. He had started his career with Maharashtrachi Lokdhara or folk dances of Maharashtra accompanying his grandfather, and performed across the state. Later he moved to television and cinema.

As a film director he marked his debut with blockbuster hit, Aga Bai Arrecha in 2004, which deals with the life and the problems of a common man living in a metropolitan city. Songs too became immensely popular. He later made a sequel of this movie in 2015, which was not successful. Some of his other films include - Bakula Namdev Ghotale, Rangeela Rayabaa, Galgale Nighale, Majha Navra Tujhi Bayko, Yanda Kartavya Aahe, Jatra: Hyalagaad Re Tyalagaad etc.

He also directed Marathi TV shows, Madhu Ithe Aani Chandra Tithe, Aali Lahar Kela Kahar, Shreeyut Gangadhar Tipare, Maharashtrachi Lokdhara, Ghadalay Bighadalay, Hasa Chakat Fu etc. In 2010 he marked his Bollywood debut with Tabu starrer, Toh Baat Pakki. The movie was not commercially successful. The lead actor Sharman Joshi is his close friend.
