Karthik Kodakandla Biography

Karthik Kodakandla is a music director, singer and composer associated with Telugu film industry. He worked as a software developer in Infosys before he forayed into the world of music. Started off composing songs for short films, later he got full length big projects from Telugu. As of now he has composed more than three hundred songs, including 8 Telugu films, 20 short films and two web-series since 2011. Ameerpet 2 America and Ugadi are his recent works in Telugu cinema as a composer and most these films were released in 2018.  Apart from his mother tongue Telugu, he has worked for productions belonging to English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and a few more regional languages.

Karthik Kodakandla was born in Warangal, Telangana. He was born on 11 January 1990. After completing his software graduation course, he pursued IT profession and worked with Infosys, one of the leading IT companies of the country. But soon or later he realized his real passion – music. He resigned his secure job at Infosys to pursue a career in music composition and singing. He started off with short films, predominantly in Telugu language and slowly big offers started coming in.

In 2012, he composed music for the short film – Anukokunda, his debut work. The short film nominated for the Cannes film festival. He continued working with short films and his works for the films - Why Not a Girl, and 1973 got nominated at various international film festivals. He has also composed music for a few independent films. His work for the most recent film, Ugadi earned him appreciation, and its title track is indeed very beautifully composed.
