Jasper is a noted actor associated with Tamil entertainment industry, who is best known for playing grey shaded and henchman roles. He mostly works on big screen, and worked as antagonist in a few movies too. He weighs 165 kg, and his obesity attributed a lot to getting more henchman roles for Jasper in Tamil movies. Jasper was a software engineer by profession, before he moved to cine world. His role as Sathyaraj's henchmen in the Hindi film, Chennai Express (2013) was well appreciated. Chimbu Deven's Puli (2015) and Siva's Vedalam (2015) are other noted works. His role as a gang member in Naanayam (2011) also got noticed.

His real name is Vijay Jasper. He was born on February 6, 1972. He currently resides in Avadi, Chennai. His nickname is Jazz. Jasper was a software engineer by profession. But his passion to movies prompted him to quit his s/w job and try his luck in films. He made his acting debut in Diwan (2003), where he shared screen space with Sarathkumar. The actor later recommended his name for his next films Chatrapathy and Gambeeram (2004). As he was overweighed, he mostly got henchman and villain roles to play, and he played these grey shaded roles with ease.

As a film actor, some of his noted roles include Chennai Express, Jithan, Naanayam, Puli, Vedalam, Anjathe, Iru Mugan etc. He also worked in a few Kannada films. He is immensely popular among Tamil audience for the henchman type of roles he plays onscreen, and the film directors of action films can never miss him in the cast. In the year 2011, Jasper received a special award for his performance as a gang leader in the 2011 film Nayanam.
