Ivana (actress) Biography

Ivana is a newcomer actress associated with Malayalam and Tamil film industry. She began her career as a child actress in the Malayalam film industry through a supporting role in Masters (2012), followed by Rani Padmini (2015) and Anuraga Karikkin Vellam (2016). She marked her Tamil film debut with Jyothika starrer Naachiyaar (2018). Ivana was earlier known by the name Aleena Shaji which she used for Malayalam films, and with Tamil debut she changed her screen name to Ivana for easy use.

She was born as Aleena Shaji on 25 February 2000 in Kerala. She marked her acting debut as a child artist for 2012 film – Masters. She was seen in a supporting role in Manju Warrier starrer Rani Padmini and got her first meaty role through award winning film, Anuraga Karikkin Vellam in 2016. She played the role of Anu, daughter of Biju Menon and Asha Sarath in the film. After the movie release, director Bala spotted a writeup about her and the movie Anuraga Karikkun Vellam online and subsequently offered her a role in his upcoming flick, Naachiyaar. Thus she marked her Tamil debut through Naachiyaar which was a box office hit.

Her parents listened to the script before she accepted the role. They supported her whole hearty. She changed her name to Ivana, and also took Tamil coaching classes from an RJ for the preparation of the role. Her role as Arasi, an innocent young girl for the film got noticed and her performance earned rave reviews. The whole movie revolves around her character. Thus she made an impressive debut in Tamil. She was doing her plus-two course when she accepted the role.
