Hareesh Perumanna Biography

Hareesh Perumanna is a popular character artist associated with Malayalam cinema. He is mostly associated with comic roles, though he has played serious roles as well. He is also a television actor and comedy performer, best known for his stock character "Jaliyan Kanaran" in Comedy Festival aired on Mazhavil Manorama. Most recently his role as a mentally challenged youngster in Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu was lauded by critics. It was a breaking of his routine stereotype roles. He marked his debut in 2014, and within a short time, he has acted in 25+ films, and most of his roles have been well noticed.

Hareesh Perumanna hails from Perumanna village, Kozhikode. His school education was completed at his hometown itself. Currently he is married to a school teacher, and the couple has one son. He started off his career as a mimicry artist, associated with "Calicut Friends” mimicry troupe, and later he has been successfully associated with many mimicry troupes of Kozhikode. He was a member of ‘V4 Calicut’ troupe when he participated as a contestant in Malayalam comedy reality show, "Comedy Festival”. The show gave him a good platform to exhibit his talents, and it was his performance in the show which earned him recognition and roles in Malayalam films.

He made his film debut through 2014 comedy movie, Ulsaha Committee starring Jayaram. Though the movie was not a huge hit, his performance got noticed, and very soon he received a cameo role in Prithviraj starrer, Sapthamashree Thaskaraha. He played one of the two thieves who appear in the first and last scene of the film, who try to rob the treasure of Padmanabha temple. There was no turning back after that, and he became a busy actor very soon. ‘Kunji Ramayanam’, ‘Two Countries’, ‘Ben’, ‘Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu’, ‘Salt Mango Tree’ and ‘Hello Namaste’ are among his most popular roles up-to-date.
