Hanu Raghavapudi Biography

Hanu Raghavapudi is a noted film director and screenwriter associated with Telugu cinema. He is associated with Telugu film industry since 2012, and till now has directed three films - Andala Rakshasi (2012), Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha (2016), LIE (2017) and currently he is working on Padi Padi Leche Manasu starring Sai pallavi as a medical student and the movie is slated to release in December 2018. His short film, I Am Famous, also earned recognition. Hanu keeps a low profile in the film industry.

Hanu hails from Bhadradri Kothagudem district of present-day Telangana state. Sathupally is his hometown. His early education was done from his native place. Since young he was interested in writing stories, and loved to become a filmmaker. Though he completed MCA in Hyderabad, he was not interested in a regular job. Then he met Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, who was doing a serial then.  Chandra Sekhar Yeleti is his mentor in film field, who showed him doors to film world.

Though he started writing many stories and scripts, he wanted to test my ability to execute them. That’s why he did a short film in 2007 titled I am Famous. He put a lot of efforts and also his monthly salary to execute it, and finally it won him accolades at different film festivals. MS called him in 2007 and worked on a script for 4 months. It didn’t work, and he later worked on a few more scripts before marking his directorial debut with Andala Rakshasi in 2012.

The movie went on floors in 2010, and finally got released in 2012. The movie starring Naveen Chandra and Lavanya Tripathi was a romantic film. The filmmaker chose year 1992 as the backdrop of film.
