Gokulnath Biography

Ambuli Gokulnath, better known as Gokulnath is a Tamil actor who appears in Tamil language films. He began his career as a graphic designer, later worked as a mime artist and dancer in various reality shows, before he forayed into Tamil films as an actor. Kalakapovadhu Yaaru, Maanada Mayilada and Naalaya Iyakkunar are some of the reality shows in which he appeared. He marked his acting debut in 2010, with Telugu film, Chapter 6 and later got permanently associated with Tamil film industry. Pathayeram Kodi in 2011 marked his Tamil film debut. He played male lead in 2016 adventure comedy film, Jambulingam 3D.

Gokulnath was born on August 12, 1984 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He was a graphic designer before he took acting and dancing as his profession. He is a mimicry artist and performer on stage too. He appeared in different reality shows on Tamil television in the role of dancer, mimicry artist and comedian, and earned initial recognition through mini screen. In 2010, he marked his acting debut through Chapter 6, a Telugu film. Later he completely switched over to Tamil roles.

He played an invisible man in his debut flick, Pathayeram Kodi released in 2011. He played second lead in his debut Tamil flick. In 2012, he played his first noted role in Ambuli, where he essayed titular role. The film was made in stereoscopic format, making it the first 3-D film in Tamil cinema. the movie received very positive reviews from critics. After the movie release, Ambuli tag got permanently added to his name. Later a movie titled Jambulingam 3D was made where he played lead role. However the movie disappointed critics and audience alike.
