Farheen Biography

Farheen is a Bollywood actress of 1990s, often known as the look alike of Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit. She was active in the first half of 1990s. She also appeared in a few south Indian films. She made her Bollywood debut through the romantic film - Jaan Tere Naam opposite Ronit Roy in 1992. She is married to famous cricketer, Manoj Prabhakar. Nazar Ke Samne, Fauj, Dil ki baazi, Aag Ka Toofan and Sainik are her Bollywood films, where she played the female lead. Surprisingly she turned down the lead role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the landmark movie of Khan’s career – Baazigar in 1993, due to date issues. She played lead role opposite Nazar Ke Samne (1994). She also shared screen space with Akshay Kumar in Sainik (1993) and she was paired opposite Ronit Roy. She was also seen in the popular investigation thriller series on Doordarshan – Tehkikaat in 1993-1994.

After the secret marriage with the controversial cricketer, Manoj Prabhakar who was already married, she disappeared from film scene. As per latest buzz, she is to return onscreen with the sequel of Jaan Tere Naam where she plays the lead actress’ mother. Ronit Roy who played lead role in the successful film, has now moved to small screen and may appear in the sequel. Now Farheen lives with her husband Manoj in Delhi, and their two children--18-year-old Raahil and 12-year-old Manavansh. Manoj’s son Rohan from his first marriage with Sandhya is also a part of her joint family. Surprisingly farheen found the match for Rohan and he has a baby, the latest member to the family.

Made her film debut in 1992 with Bollywood film, Jaan Tere Naam, Bollywood went gaga over the Madhuri Dixit lookalike. She met Manoj Prabhakar two years later. She also appeared in south Indian films such as Halli Meshtru - 1992 (Kannada), Kalaignan - 1993 (Tamil) and King Solomon - 1996 (Malayalam). Following her secret wedding with Manoj Prabhakar she quit film industry. Though it was reported that after four years marriage, Manoj left Farheen to reunite with his first life, years later she was found happily settled with Manoj Prabhakar and two kids, along with her stepson.
