Farah Karimaee Biography

Farah Karimaee is a Dutch-Indian model who made her Bollywood acting debut with 2016 movie - Teraa Surroor. She played the lead role opposite Himesh Reshammiya. However the movie opened to negative reviews. The musical also starred Naseeruddin Shah, Shekhar Kapur, Kabir Bedi, and Monica Dogra in supporting roles. The movie was a moderate success at box office. She is the younger sister of noted model, Mandana Karimi who has already made her Bollywood debut.

 

Farah Karimaee was born in Zuid-Holland, the Netherlands to parents of Indian origin. She was born in the year 1993. Her elder sister Mandana Karimi is already an established Indian model, who has acted in Bollywood films like Bhaag Johnny, Main Aur Charles and Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3. She was also seen as a contestant in Bigg Boss 9 2015. Both these Iranian models love to work in Bollywood right now. In her debut Hindi film - Teraa Surroor, Farah played the lead role of a singer Tara Wadia, and the girlfriend of Himesh Reshammiya.

 

She has attended Himesh’s concert in Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam some years ago. Since then a self-confessed fan of Himesh’s music Farah hopes for a big break in the industry, similar to Deepika Padukone and Hansika Motwani, who were introduced to the entertainment industry through Himesh Reshammiya’s music albums and later went on to become top actresses.

 

She started her career as a model and worked with modelling agencies Inega and Toabh during her early days. In 2013 she was the first runner-up of Queen of the Netherlands beauty pageant. Since then she has worked as a model for many international brands and has also been associated with Indian ads of Tribhuvandas Bhimji Zaveri, Lakme, Reliance Trends, Parachute body lotion etc.
