Eva Pavithran Biography

Eva Pavithran is a film actress associated with Malayalam film industry. Her debut in Malayalam film was Campus in 2005 followed by Krithyam the same year. She is the daughter of legendary filmmaker V. K. Pavithran and well known classical dancer, Kalamadalam Kshemavathy. The couple has one more daughter Lekshmi. Eva was inclined towards fashion industry and worked in Mumbai before she acted in a few movies. After a long break of 10 years, she returned to Malayalam cinema with the film, Rockstar.

She was born in Thrissur, Kerala to a family of artists. Her father V. K. Pavithran is a critically acclaimed film director associated with Malayalam film industry. V. K. Pavithran produced the controversial movie based on communist ideologies during Emergency period – Kabaini Nadi Chuvannappol, and many other award winning movies. Her mother Kalamadalam Kshemavathy is an accomplished classical dancer and teacher from Thrissur. She was Miss Thrissur at the age of 15 and earned the title of Miss Coimbatore in college. Her father passed away when she was only 20, the time when she made her film debut. She worked in a prominent fashion magazine in Mumbai before she made her film debut.

She made her film debut with 2005 film, Campus. She played female lead opposite Madhu Warrior in this film. It was followed by Prithviraj starrer, Krithyam which was an average grosser. She was not interested in acting when she appeared in a couple of movies, and she was serious about a career in fashion industry. After a break of 10 long years, she returned to silver screen with the movie, Rockstar. She played Athira Menon, a pro – feminist and bold beauty consultant in this film. Though she was away from celluloid, she appeared in various TV shows including ‘Smart Show’ aired in Flowers TV.
