Divya Pillai Biography

Divya Pillai is a young actress associated with Malayalam films. She made her film debut with 2015 film, Ayal Njanalla in a parallel lead and later acted in Prithviraj starrer, Oozham. She played Prithviraj’s opposite lead role in this film, and both the films were box office hits.

Divya Pillai hails from Mavelikara and was born in the year 1985 to Narayana Pillai and Chandrika. She is the second daughter to the couple. Though her family belongs to Mavelikara, she was born and brought up in Dubai where she completed her studies. Soon after she completed her engineering studies, she got job in Emirates. From there she moved to Fly Dubai where she works in administration department. Film entry is just co-incidence for Divya who started her career as an airline staff. She attended the wedding of a friend, and was spotted by the director to become Fahadh’s heroine. The movie also marked Vineet Kumar’s directorial debut.

She made her film debut in the year 2015 with Ayal Njanalla starring Fahadh Fasil. She was seen in the parallel lead role of Heera with Bangalore background in the film. Her effortless portrayal of an upper middle class girl who falls for a guy impersonating a movie star got well received by audience too. The film’s success bagged her big role in Oozham directed by Jeetu Joseph. The movie was released in 2016, and Divya played Prithviraj’s fiancée and one among the group to set for a revenge in this Onam release.

After the two hit movies back to back, and experience to work opposite two top heroes of Malayalam, Divya is now serious about her film career. Though she doesn’t own any acting experience before, her co-stars including Prithviraj have supported her a lot during shooting schedules.
