Dinesh Mongia Biography 
Dinesh Mongia is an Indian cricketer who has played in the National team as a left-handed batsman. He also owns an outstanding career record in the domestic cricket. A well-known batsman of the national team, he played international cricket during the period, 2001-2007 and he is best remembered for his outstanding innings of an unbeaten 159 off just 147 balls against Zimbabwe in an ODI against Zimbabwe in 2002 for which he was awarded ‘Man of the Match’ award. He has scored only this century in his ODI career. He played 57 ODIs for team India scoring a total of 1230 runs, which included 4 half-centuries as well. He currently plays for Chandigarh Lions in the Indian Cricket League.
Dinesh Mongia was born on 17 April 1977 in Chandigarh. Known to be run scorer in domestic games, he made his international debut in the year 2001. He played his maiden match in March 2001 against Australia. Though he was not successful as a batsman in the first four matches, he made his first half-century the same year against England. Since then he has played a few noted innings for Indian team. His unbeaten 159 off just 147 balls against Zimbabwe in 2002 is best innings in his ODI career and he played for team India till 2007. He was a member of the team which played the finals of Cricket World Cup 2002.
He has played with Lancashire as an overseas player during 2004-2005. Though he was dropped out of Indian national team in 2005, he made a comeback to Indian team in the year 2006, for a tri-nation series which was pulled back due to various reasons. However he got opportunity to play in 2006 tri-series against Australia and West Indies in Malaysia, where he made a half-century in his last international match. He continued with domestic matches and Twenty 20 and has made 8028 runs in the 121 first class matches he played till now. Unbeaten 308 is his best innings.
