Dhruvan Biography

Dhruvan is an upcoming film actor who works in Malayalam cinema. He came into limelight for the first time through the film Queen (2018). Less-known 2016 film Raag Rangeela, directed by Yousef Mohammed marked his screen debut, and Queen (2018) directed by Dijo Jose Antony was his second release. Dhruvan played the lead in this youth-oriented film and shared screen space with a bunch of newcomers, Saniya Iyappan, Ashwin Jose, Eldho Mathew, Arun H. Das and Shamil Raj. Children's Park was his third release, and he played a cameo role in his fourth release, Finals.

Dhruvan was born in Ottapalam, Palakkad. He doesn’t belong to any filmy background, yet he dreamt to become an actor. He started his film career playing brief roles. He did a small role in the Mohanlal-starrer '1971- Beyond Borders', before he appeared in auditions for ‘Queen’. He ended up with the male lead role in the film, which he never expected. The movie starring a list of newcomers was a box office hit, and Dhruvan received his first big break in the industry.

Initially he was named for Mammootty’s magnum opus Maamangam, released in 2019. He also made a lot of preparations for the role. He skipped his gym classes. Instead he learnt the art of Kalari. He also declined a few good projects to be a part of Maamangam, and stay focused to develop his physique. However at the last moment he was dropped from the film, a reason not known to him. It was a big disappointment for him as he lost a golden chance to share screen space with Mammootty. For him acting is a passion, and he is willing to accept a role even if it is small.
