Deepraj Rana Biography

Deepraj Rana is a Bollywood and television actor known for portraying character and villain roles. He also owns a production house called Phaphamau castle films Pvt Ltd. Started with television serials on Doordarshan in the year 1990, Rana has completed 25 years in the entertainment industry. The Doordarshan serial ‘Reporter’ is one of his breakthrough roles in the first phase of his career, where he worked aside Sekhar Suman. Aamir Khan starrer Mangal Pandey: The Rising is his noted work in Hindi films, where he played the role of legendary Tatya Tope.

He was born and brought up in Allahabad. He completed graduation from D.A.V. College, Chandigarh and Post-Graduation in Theatre from Punjab University, Chandigarh. He was awarded best actor award several times during his college days. He is married to the television actress - Natasha Rana of Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai fame. Chanakya in 1990 is his first credited role as an actor. Deepraj Rana is a regular face on small screen and has entertained viewers for more than 25 years.

He was last seen in the role of Parasuram in the most popular mythological series - Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev. Deepraj has also appeared in TV serials like Na Aana Is Des Laado and Left Right Left in the recent times. He was a much known face on Doordarshan in the 1990s before the popularization of other channels. He has been a part of several landmark Doordarshan series in the 1990s - The Great Maratha, Chanakya, Reporter, Yug, The Sword of Tipu Sultan, Udaan and Chandrakanta to name a few.

He played a key role in Suhaib Ilyasi's, '498A- The Wedding Gift' on Dowry Act and played a pivot role in 'Sahab Biwi aur Gangster'. He did the role of Jimmy Shergil's right hand in the movie. He portrays negative shaded roles on screen with perfection and mostly appears in action thrillers. Ghost, Gunday, Singham Returns, Bullett Raja, Saathiya, Special 26 and Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns are a few more movies to mention.
