Deepika Padukone Biography 
Deepika Padukone is one of the celebrated lady superstars and beautiful faces of Bollywood screen. Highest paid actress of Hindi cinema, she has also made her Hollywood debut through xXx: Return of Xander Cage in 2017, where she played female lead opposite Vin Diesel. Deepika is widely regarded as an extremely talented actress of present times, and she has completed one decade in the industry. Made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan through blockbuster, Om Shanti Om in 2007, she also owns multiple dozens of good films in her career. Cocktail released in 2012 marked a turning point in Padukone's career, and very soon she became the top actress of Bollywood screen.
Deepika Padukone was born on 5 January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark. She is the daughter of famous badminton player Prakash Padukone who has won several international matches for India. Deepika too was brought up as a badminton player and played the sport in national level championships, before she completely switched on to modelling and films. She appeared as a model for the first time at the age of 8. Finally she gave up her plan to become a badminton player while doing 10th grade and took up modelling as her career. In 2004, she became a full-time model under the tutelage of Prasad Bidapa.
She appeared in a few television ads and worked in a few south Indian movies as well. But her appearance for ‘Naam Tera Tera’ for Himesh Reshammiya’s album in 2006 opened her doors to Bollywood. At the age of 21 she was relocated to Mumbai from Bangalore. Though she had a few setbacks in her Bollywood career spanning to one decade, it has been almost a steep rise to where she is right now. Since her debut in 2007, she always remained filmmakers’ and movie buffs’ hot favourite. Except Shah Rukh Khan, she has never worked with any superstars of the industry like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan or Hrithik Roshan. Her single release with Akshay Kumar too was a flop. Yet she reached a position which is almost unreachable for other heroines of Bollywood in the present times.
Some of her big hits include – Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year & Chennai Express opposite Shah Rukh Khan, Love Aaj Kal, Race & Cocktail opposite Saif Ali Khan, Bachna Ae Haseeno and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani oppiste Ranbir Kapoor, Piku opposite Irrfan Khan, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani opposite Ranvir Singh. Break Ke Baad, Karthik Calling Karthik, Desi Boys, Fanny and Tamasha are other major works. Padmavati, opposite Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor is her upcoming release. It’s her third association with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ranveer Singh in a row, and the roles are based on great works or real-life characters. She also shares a romantic relationship with Ranveer Singh, after her breakup with Ranbir Kapoor.
Padukone is the recipient of three Filmfare Awards. She won it first for Best Female Debut for Om Shanti Om (2007), followed by two Best Actress awards for Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013) and Piku (2015) from 7 nominations up-to-date. Nowadays Deepika is choosier with her roles, and even rejected a project opposite Salman Khan. With the success of her debut Hollywood film- xXx: Return of Xander Cage in 2017 she is now concentrated on Hollywood career and less seen in Hindi films. Padmavati is her upcoming release, after a long break of almost 2 years.
