Deepak Shirke Biography

Deepak Shirke is an actor associated with Bollywood and Marathi films, who mostly portrays character roles apart from villain roles. His role as Damliya in Bollywood blockbuster ‘Ishq’ is one of his memorable roles. Daag: The Fire, Anth, Tirangaa, Judwaa and Bhai are other noted roles. He has been quite active in the Bollywood industry in the 1990s, and mostly he portrayed grey shaded roles. The comedy film - Ferrari Ki Sawaari is one of his noted appearances in the recent times. He was also seen in ‘Mere Dost Picture Abhi Baki Hai’. The popular actor Shakti Kapoor is his brother in law and Shraddha Kapoor is his niece.

He has done over 100 films till now and one of Bollywood's legendary villains of the 1990s and 2000s. As a television actor, C. I. D is one of his memorable works, where he played the role of ACP Digvijay. The terrific trio of Shivaji Satam, Deepak Shirke and Ajay Phansekar has been a big success on small screen and after a short break, he returned to series once again. Earlier he took a small break with the series, Ek Shunya Shunya and returned once again in 2012 to join the team.

This actor from Mumbai, Maharashtra started his career in the late 1980s with Marathi films. Irsaal Karti in 1987 is his first credited movie. He played the memorable role of Anna Shetty in his debut Bollywood film, Agneepath – the movie that gave National award to Amitabh Bachchan. Later he was seen in numerous character roles and slowly moved to villain roles. He played the role of Kalia Danger in Khuda Gawa and Pratap (Tiger's Father) in ‘Hum’. He regularly appeared in Big B movies in the 1990s.
