Deepak Devrani Biography

Deepak Devrani is an Indian professional footballer who hails from New Delhi. He plays primarily as a Centre back for his team. He is a member of National team who has been a part of India U16, U19 and U23 teams. He also plays for I - League - professional football league in India, and currently a member of Minerva Punjab. He has previously played for several football clubs of India such as Sporting Goa, Pailan Arrows, FC Pune City, Mohun Bagan etc, and he got into professional career since 2010 in association with Pailan Arrows.

 

Deepak was born in Delhi on 10 December 1992. He started playing football at the age of 12 and practised the game at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi, under the coach Nirmal Singh. He got selected for D.D.A. Yamuna Nagar where he got opportunity to play under coaches Naveen Khandwal and Ranjith Thapa. In 2007 during his teens he joined Chandigarh football academy. He played for team India for the first time as a member of U16 during 2007-2009. He scored 2 goals from 9 appearances, and later he became a part of U19 and U23 teams also.

 

Though he was first signed by East Bengal, he didn’t get any opportunity to play and hence he moved to Pailan Arrows. During the 2010-11 season, Devrani played only five matches for the club. Following a knee injury he missed first 20 games of the 2011-12 I-League also. He scored his first goal against Mumbai during the 2012 Federation Cup. He along with Ravi Kumar was signed for Sporting Goa on 18 July 2013, and made his I-League on 24 October 2013 against Rangdajied. He played for FC Pune City in the 2014 Indian Super League.
