Darshana Rajendran Biography

Darshana Rajendran is a south Indian film actress who predominantly works in Malayalam and Tamil films, and is best known for playing supporting roles. She played Nasriya’s friend in Koode, Aishwarya Lekshmi’s friend in Mayanadhi, and later appeared in character roles in Virus, Vijay Superum Paurnamiyum etc. She is also a successful storyteller and has donned different hats. Through the brief roles she played on screen, she has always got noticed and she is an experienced theatre artist too.

 

Darshana Rajendran hails from an artistic family with filmy background. Her father Rajendran worked in Saudi Arabia as British Councillor. Her mother Neeraja also plays brief roles on silver screen and she recently shared screen space with Darshana for the movie, Virus. Her mother also worked as dance teacher in Saudi Arabia. The family got active in films after they returned to India. They moved back to India, after Darshana completed 8th grade. Later she continued education here, and graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi. Later she moved to London to do her Master’s. She has one sister Bhavana who now is settled in Bangalore and busy in theatre.

 

Darshana moved back to India after completing her studies in London, and took job at Institute of financial management and research at Chennai. Her active days in theatre began only after that. She is also a singer, who successfully auditioned for English theatre after being suggested by her friend. For next three years she carried her job and theatre hand in hand, and then resigned her job to completely concentrate on to theatre. She also took up careers of dubbing artist and story teller before she got break into films.
