Dakssh Ajit Singh Biography

Dakssh Ajit Singh is a television actor associated with Hindi entertainment industry. He has also worked in many Punjabi films. He is also a lyricist, singer and Punjabi film producer. Punjabi film Arsho (2014) marked his debut as a film producer. As a television actor, he is best known for playing the highly controversial gay character of Gaurav Jhakar in Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak?, aired on Star Plus in 2010. Ishq Ka Rang Safed, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Hum Ne Li Hai... Shapath, Jamunia, Chaldi Da Naam Gaddi and Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat are other noted television roles.

 

Dakssh Ajit Singh is a less known poet and photographer too, who is a singer as well. A compilation of his poems titled - Dil Ke Jazbaat was published in 2010, which includes a collection of Hindi and Urdu nazams, ghazals and poetry. He is a die-hard romantic person who believes in living each moment of life, rather than dwelling on problems and unhappy situations. He has worked as a lyricist and playback singer of Punjabi movies. Tere Ishq Nachaya and Rahe Chardi Kala Punjab Di are his noted Punjabi films, where he played the role of an actor as well as screenwriter.

 

This actor is known for experimenting with his roles on mini screen - gay character of Gaurav Jhakar in Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak, negative role of Bali Thakur in Imagine TV's Jamunia and short-tempered guy in Chhal Sheh Aur Maat being the best instances. The actor feels that unlike cinema, there are only less opportunities for male actors to do different roles on mini screen and that’s why he accepts different types of roles. The actor is not interested to take up anything that does not excite him.
