Chintapalli Ramana Biography

Chintapalli Ramana is a screenwriter associated with Telugu cinema since 1990s. He started off as a co-writer of movies in the early 1990s, before he turned a full-fledged writer in the second half of 1990s. Tholi Prema in 1998 was one of his major hits in his independent career, and after that he turned a very busy screenwriter of Telugu movies. He has been a part of more than 50 films, in a career spanning to more than 25 years.  He worked with Tollywood’s top directors like YVS Chowdary, Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao, Srinu Vaitla, Puri Jagannadh, Kodi Ramakrishna, V V Vinayak, S V Krishna Reddy and A. Karunakaran, and has delivered many super hit movies.

Chintapalli Ramana was born in Palakol, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. He was born into a family with links to theatre. His father Chintapalli Suryanarayana Reddy was a playwright, director and stage actor. Drawing inspirations from his father, Ramana too joined entertainment industry, on a wider screen. He appealed millions of movie buffs with his dialogues and scripts. He remained one of the top and well established screenwriters of Telugu cinema in the 2000s. He has been associated with entertainment industry since 1986.

Initially he worked as a dialogue writer in movie industry since second half of 1980s, and worked in nearly 40 movies, before he graduated to co-writer and finally an independent screenwriter. He has also worked as associate director in Telugu film industry. As a screenwriter some of his works include - Intlo Srimathi Veedhilo Kumari, Friends, Namo Venkatesa, Ullasamga Utsahamga, Saleem, Dil, Okkadine, Maaro, Arundhati, Boss I Love You, Devadasu, Andaru Dongale, Abhimanyu, Sandade Sandadi, Priyamaina Neeku etc.
