Charandeep Biography

Charandeep is a south Indian film actor known for portraying negative roles. Boxer, Jilla and Sigaram Thodu are his memorable roles. Tamil film - Jilla in 2014 was his breakthrough role where he played villain’s role against Mohanlal and Vijay. He also played the negative role of Brother of Kalakeya in the magnum opus - Baahubali: The Beginning in 2015. Pataas, Kathi (Telugu), Darling, Loafer, Vinavayya Ramayya and Tungabhadra are other Telugu releases. Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva (Tamil), Naanu Mattu Varalakshmi (Kannada) and Chuttalabbai (Telugu) are his upcoming releases.

 

Charandeep was born in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh on 20 June 1987. His full name is Charandeep Surneni. Both his parents work in government sector. He completed his B. tech and MBA from J.B.Institute of Engineering & Technology. Yet he chose films over his engineering profession. He made his film debut in the year 2010 doing a small role in the Telugu film, Darling. After playing a few character roles, he came to spotlight after his outstanding performance in the Tamil movie – Jilla. The actor loves playing powerful villainous roles, though he has no reservations in playing any kind of roles. His physique, six-pack sporting body and height are his positives to play negative roles.

 

He played antagonist roles in Tamil films – Jilla and “Sigaram Thodu”. He spent three years in martial arts and also developed six-pack abs. He made his Kannada film debut with ‘Boxer’ (2015) directed by Preetham Gubbi. The whole movie revolved around the theme of kickboxing. Though he had limited space in the first part of Rajamouli’s Bahubali, he is to share more screen space in its concluding part. He worked with Vijay for Jilla and Puli.
