C. S. Venkiteswaran Biography 
C. S. Venkiteswaran is a National award winning film critic, documentary film maker and writer from Chalakudi, Kerala. His full name is Dr. Chittur Subramanian Venkiteswaran. His works belong to Malayalam and English languages. He is one of the most prominent critics of Malayalam cinema. Many of his critic works have been published in the past 2 decades in many magazines and publications like Deep Focus, Film International, Cinema in India, Bhashaposhini, Pachakuthira, Indian Express, The Hindu, Mathrubhumi and Madhyamam. He regularly wrote a column on Malayalam cinema for more than one decade in Indian Express titled "Rumblestrip". He has also published the biopic of filmmaker K. R .Mohanan titled "Samanthara Yathrakal - K R Mohanante Cinema" in 2004. Many of his works written on Malayalam cinema have earned him critics’ appreciation and awards.
He was born on 5 November 1959 in Chalakkudy of Thrissur district. He interested in films at a young age and for the same reason, he regularly visited many film festivals to know more about movies. In the 1970s he was actively involved in many film society movements. He holds a Post Graduate Doctorate in Commerce and Management from Calicut University. He is married to renowned Sanskrit scholar and translator Muthulakshmy.
His best works include - Udalinte Tharasancharangal, Malayala Cinema Padanangal, Cinema Talkies, A Door to Adoor and Samanthara Yathrakal - K R Mohanante Cinema. He is a recipient of Kerala state film awards and National awards multiple times. His critics writing have helped him to bag national awards thrice in the years – 1995, 2002 and 2009. He won Swarna kamal for best critic for the year 2009. He is also a recipient of Kerala state film awards thrice.
