Bhanupriya Biography

Bhanupriya is a popular south Indian actress who is most known for her beauty and dance steps. She has completely dominated south Indian film industry during medieval 80’s and 90’s and has given significant contributions to south Indian languages as well as Hindi. She has acted more than 100 movies till now. She is often regarded as a sex symbol of south Indian beauties of 1980’s.

Bhanu Priya was born in Andra Pardesh, but the family later settled in Chennai.  She debut Tamil film industry at the age of 17 with the movie Mella Pesungal in 1983. She added 40 Tamil movies in her record. She debut Telugu industry with Sitara and has done 55 movies completely dominating the industry. She was often compared to great actress of yesterdays like Savithri and Padmini. Many co-actors love to see her dance steps as she was a graceful dancer on dance sequences during that period. She has been successfully paired with Chiranjeevi during 1980’s. She was successfully paired with Jeetendra in many Bollywood movies during 80’s. She did the role of a house wife in a few of those movies. In  a big series of movies like Insaaf ki pukar, Khudgarz, Tamacha, Mar mitenge, Zahreeley, Dav pech, Kasam vardi ki and Dosthi Dushmani she was paired opposite him.    

A few of her Telugu movies include Rowdy, Apporva sahodaralu, Bhagawan, Black tiger, Palnati puli, Kudumba bandam, Illaliko pariksha, Chadarangam, Gruhalekshmi, Illale devatha, Aalapana, Vijetha, Kashmora,  Mogadu Pellalu, Agni keerathalu, Garjana, Karthika Paurnami, Banguru Chilika, Srinivasa kalyanam and Jwala.  Her Tamil movies include Thalapathi, Brahma, Thendral thodatha malar, Khsatriyan, Sirayil pootha sinna malar, Puthiya manithan, Thaipoosam, Therkku theru machan, Azhagan, Pondaatti sonna kettukkanam, Panjali and Gopura vaasalile.

She debut Malayalam in 1992 with the movie ‘Raja Shilpi’ opposite Mohan Lal. This movie was a huge hit and well noticed for her classical dance steps and song sequences sung by Chitra. Songs like Ambili kala choodum and Arivin nilave well witnessed her dancing skills and talents. She acted opposite Mammootty in the movie Azhakiya Ravanan. She was placed as a dancer in Kochu kochu santhoshangal – a movie where Jayaram and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy played lead roles. A song pictured on her and Lakshmi was well noticed in the year 2000. She has done Highway and Kulam opposite third superstar of Malayalam Suresh Gopi, thus acting will all super stars of Malayalam during 90’s.
