Barbara Mori Biography

Barbara Mori is a Uruguayan-Mexican model, film and television actress, most familiar to Indian audience as Hrithik Roshan’s heroine in the Bollywood movie – Kites (2010). Hot kissing scenes pictured in the movie and rumours revolving around Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori also and events followed by helped her to remain in limelight. Though the much anticipated project Kites was a big failure at box office, Mori gathered huge fan crowd from all over India.

Mori started her career in 1992 as a fashion model at the age of 14. She was working as a waitress when fashion designer Marcos Toledo invited her to work as a model. At the age of 17, she became independent and lived with her cousins. She had a relationship with actor Sergio Mayer and a son was born in the year 1998. However the couple didn’t marry. She took acting classes from El Centro de Estudios de Formación Actoral. In 1997, she debut as an actress on small screen with Mirada De Mujer opposite TV Azteca. She got her first TVyNovelas Award for best new actress for her role in this series. Azul Tequila, co-starring with Mauricio Ochmann was her first lead role. The telenovela Rubi (2004) which was a remake of the 1968 series was her big break to acting industry, where she played lead role. Later she acted in many movies as well as music videos.

In 2009, she starred in the psychological crime thriller Amor, Dolor y Viceversa alongside Leonardo Sbaraglia. The following year Rakesh Roshan signed her as the leading lady for ‘Kites’ opposite his son, Hrithik Roshan. Rumours spread about their romance added publicity to the movie and it even resulted in the first split of Hrithik and Suzzanne’s happy family life. Mori was diagnosed with early stage cancer and now a survivor. She featured in UniGlobe Entertainment's docu-drama titled 1 a Minute, featuring the survivors of cancer, related to film field.
