Babu Antony Biography

Baby Antony is one of the villains of Malayalam screen. During early 1990’s, he was the top villain of the industry and later started doing character roles. Occasionally he has done positive roles as well. A few of such roles include lead roles as well. Vaishali (1988), Kottayam Kunjachan (1990), Aparhnnam (1991), Kauravar (1992), Nadodi (1992), Dada (1993), Chanda (1995) and Uppukandam Brothers (1993) are the noted works of this actor. According to reports, Babu is all set for his directorial debut in "Piano”. He is a Fifth Dan Black Belt in martial arts and one of the actors of the industry to reach stardom by excelling in racy fight scenes. He has also taught many students, martial arts at Papal pontifical college Pune. His 6 feet height is his positive point that helped him to excel in many negative roles. He has also appeared in a few Bollywood movies playing villain’s roles.

 
Babu was born on 22 February 1966 in Ponkunnam, Kerala as the son of T J Antony and Mariya. He is also known by the name Bob Antony. He is married to Evgeniya Antony. He made his debut in Bharathan's Chilampu (1986) where he played negative role. Through Fazil’s 1986 thriller Poovinu Puthiya Poonthennal, he became an established actor of the industry. Poovinu Puthiya Poonthennal was made in all south Indian languages, where Babu reprised the role played by him in the original. After that he didn’t look back and became the favourite choice for villain of action movies of all noted directors. His monopoly was well noticed in the industry during 1990’s and he worked in all south Indian languages.

He made his debut in Bollywood with Govinda’s movie – Hathya. This movie was the remake of his own debut Malayalam movie - Poovinu Puthiya Poonthennal. Most recently he appeared in Bollywood flick, Ek deewana tha.
