Avinabo Bag Biography

Avinabo Bag is an Indian professional footballer who played the first season of Indian Super League - professional football league in 2014. He played as a defender for the Kerala Blasters in ISL in the first edition. He is associated with professional matches since 2011, and has played for the Indian football clubs such as Pailan Arrows, Eagles F.C., Kerala Blasters and East Bengal F.C. since then. He scored his first goal of his career on 28 August 2012 against Air India FC during the 2012 Durand Cup.

 

Avinabo Bag was born on 8 September 1989 in West Bengal. He started his professional career in 2011 with Pailan Arrows, where he played I-League from Kalighat MS. He played his first match against Salgaocar on 28 October 2012 in the I-League, marking his professional debut. Pailan lost the match 0–4. Bag was associated with Pailan till 2013 season. In the 2012-13 season, Bag played 16 times for Pailan Arrows in the I-League under Arthur Papas. The Bengali right back is versatile enough to occupy the right midfielder slot when needed.

 

He then played with eagles F. C. of Kerala on loan in 2013–2014 season. Bisheshwor Singh, Bijendra Rai, Biswajit Saha, Nadong Bhutia, Jagroop Singh, Ramandeep Singh and Govin Singh were the other players who joined him in the club. His talents were noted by Trevor Morgan during the IMG-R players conditioning camp and got inducted to Kerala Blasters in ISL for its first season in 2014. He played as a Defender who appeared in 5 matches this season in Indian Super League, playing a total of 374 minutes.  But he didn’t score any goal.
