Avantika Mishra Biography

Avantika Mishra is an Indian actress who concentrates on south Indian films. She is a successful model too. She played lead role in Maaya (2014) - the Telugu psychological thriller film directed by the national award winning Neelakanta. The film was produced by Madhura Sreedhar Reddy. She was paired with Harshvardhan Rane and the movie also starred Sushma Raj and Nandini Rai in pivot roles. The movie is to be remade in Hindi as the franchise of the most popular Murder series of Mahesh Bhatt. She signed Three Telugu projects, followed by Maaya (2014) her first release. “Kerintha" under Dil raju banner is among her signed Telugu projects.

Avantika comes from a defense background. Avantika Mishra was born on 30 May 1992 in Bihar to M K Mishra and Savitha Mishra. Her father works in Air Force. She has one younger brother. She studied in Air force Golden Jubilee Institute, followed by chemical engineering from BMS College of engineering Bangalore. During this time she entered modelling and signed a few film projects as well. She also signed several modelling assignments from Kerala during this time, apart from Puma, Femina, Chennai brands. She acted in several television ads of Kerala. Modelling gave confidence in acting – says this promising newcomer.

She approached film director Neelakanta 6 months after her modelling career in Bangalore, and bagged a supporting role in his upcoming psychological thriller - Maaya (2014). He had already seen her pictures and asked her to meet him. It took just 10 minutes for him to finalize her. In fact, the production designer put a bindi on her forehead and the director was convinced that he got his character.
