Ashika Ranganath Biography

Ashika Ranganath is a successful film actress associated with Kannada films. She marked her film debut with 2016 film, Crazy Boy playing the title role of Nandini, and rose to flame with her debut role itself. She received a nomination at SIIMA for best debutant female. After that she has played lead and parallel lead roles on silver screen. Her other releases till now are - Mass Leader (2017), Mugulu Nage (2017), Raju Kannada Medium (2018) and Rambo -2 (2018). Garuda and Tayyige Takka Maga are her upcoming projects, in which she is working now. Her elder sister R. Anusha has also worked in films.

 

Ashika Ranganath hails from Tumkur, Karnataka. She was born in Hassan. Her father is a Civil Contractor and her mother, a housewife. She was born into a family with non-filmy background. But she is a trained dancer who has participated in reality shows on TV, and also many dance competitions still state level winning many prizes. She is trained in freestyle, Bollywood, Belly and western dance forms. She was a runner-up of reality shows - Dance Karnataka & Fresh Face Bengaluru 2014, while studying at Jyoti Nivas College, Koramangala Bangalore. Both these shows gave her first exposure to the entertainment medium.

 

In 2016, she made an impressive debut through Crazy Boy. She played lead role opposite Dilip Prakash in the movie directed by Mahesh Babu. Since 2016, five of her films have been released, and two more movies in the pre-production stage. Rambo - 2 was her most recent release, where she played lead role opposite Sharan. His comedy film was written and directed by Anil Kumar. The film received favorable reviews from critics and was a box office hit.
